Bret Kavanaugh was just confirmed. Please, Please, PLEASE vote in November. We must have an active & informed electorate. And we have to vote with our brains. Not emotional responses to manipulation by whomever. Read. Educate yourself. Don't just take in information from the side of the media that appeals to you. Listen to & read from all sides. Keeping our experiment in democracy on track & not allowing it to devolve into an oligarchical autocracy will take every regular person on the voting rolls. God bless this nation. 🇺🇸

A credibly accused sex offender on the Supreme Court will only add to the deep partisan divide in this country. There were so many good sober judges he could have chosen instead.

Other students from his classes and schools said that he was a bad drinker, often passing out and blacking out. Money talks real people black or white aren’t treated the same. Do you think we could get away with things he has done.

Not true. Not credible. Not a sex offender. Terrible exaggeration. Good grief, he was a kid when he drank too much beer.

He was a student at Yale drinking too much. He wasn’t living with mommy and daddy anymore. When do you consider a person an adult?

I think that if the election is rigged in favor of the republicans in both the house and senate, we will know that our democracy has been bought by the Russians. I will be voting, I will be be driving seniors to the polls and I will be watching that night. But I am losing hope in this election being fair. I think the worst has already happened and it will all come out on election night.

I agree. My only immediate concern is this: why wasn't he truthful about such youthful behavior? He wasn't truthful to the Senate Judiciary Committee on such a small matter. He hasn't continued to drink or behave that way since college so none of it matters. Telling the truth DOES. That and his prior decisions have come down against the little guy, unions, etc in favor of big business, corporations. And he seems to have expressed a belief in the past against the need for special counsels, eventhough he assisted with the action of Special Counsel Ken Starr against Democrat Bill Clinton. And he thinks a President may be able to pardon himself. Like someone else said, he may well be DJT's get out of jail free card.

Exactly. Ladies..what if someone accused your son 30 years after an alleged incident. Should he be vilified and pronounced guilty with ZERO proof?. I chose to look at his record as a Federal Judge, how he ajudicated..
And how many of us would want the world peering into our high school days and hold us now accountable for an unproven accusation?

i do not consider his behavior before the Senate adult behavior. The level of anger was over the top. Yes, he was facing accusations, but there are better, more measured ways of expressing yourself than what he showed the nation.

I agree. As a judge, he needs to keep his emotions and partisanship in check.

Until you face accusations that cannot be verified (and Dr Fords accusations could not be verified by friends or others) it is hard to know how you would respond. I know I would be very angry. Does that imply a lack of judicial thinking. Not really. I think Judge Kavanaugh was justified in his anger. The law in our country is innocent until proven guilty. It was not proven. Not by a long shot. Just think, many our our African Americans were hanged on the testimony of such as Dr Ford.

I'm willing to call the he said-she said Ford-Kavanaugh issue a draw. I'm willing to write off excessive beer drinking, sophomoric behavior and language as youthful indiscretion. What I can not and will not overlook is Kavanaugh's lack of judicial temperament, his bias, vilification of Democrats, disrespect of senators and acceptance of a baseless conspiracy theory. That is sufficient to discredit and disqualify him from a seat on the nation's highest court.

Most people are able to control themselves and their temper in public. As a judge, that man SHOULD know how to conduct himself. He was over emotional, and I doubt that he would have allowed that behavior in his own courtroom.

And, the African Americans were hanged because of a fault of their birth, being born with dark skin, nothing more, so your point does not apply.

yes it does. All a white woman had to do was hint she had been laid a hand on by a Negro and he was lynched. A very dark time in our nation indeed...
