I have tried some slippery circular needles (by Addi and KnitPro) and I noticed I still prefer DP needles. Still I would want the same slipperiness as these premium needles had.

I have a slight fear of developing nickel allergy (after getting some rashes from my wedding ring), so I am looking for needles not having a nickel coating. If it would not be for this fear, I am sure the Nova Metal of KnitPro would be good. What is the most slippery DP needles made without nickel coating?

Not positive about this, but I seem to recall something about Chiaogoo being stainless....does anyone know for sure?

I read your post and thought what a brave person. I had to buy karbonz dpns because I can’t keep the slippery metal ones in my knitting. Hope someone here has a good answer for you, and that you find what your looking for.

I have some chiaogoo double pointed needles and I am very pleased with them. They are slick, but not as slick as addis. But, they are made of stainless steel. So they should be good for your nickle allergy.

handsomefibers.com sells them (no, i don't work for them, i'm just a customer)

I tried the dpn from Knit Picks and liked them so much I ordered the entire set. Yarn slides easily over them. Would not go back to metal ones.

Or you could use bamboo needles but wax them before using: at least two coats of regular old floor wax and buff up nicely. They’re not quite as slippery as metal, but no allergy problem.

Knitters Pride Cubics circular needles makes me happy, they don't drag the yarn and I find cubics are easier on my hands. I like the lace points although they also make wood cubics. I much prefer metal dp's to wood.

Knit Picks and Knitters Pride carry a metal needle that is slippery.

Have you tried Knitters Pride Zing dpns? I may not be right, but thought the Zing line is made of aluminum. I love the circulars, have ordered a set of interchangeable, love the crochet hooks and just received some 9” circular sock needles in today’s mail. Check them out - less than expensive than some of the other brands and are quality products.
