This year I made a New Year's Resolution to knit at least 10 stitches every day. I figured I could knit 10 stitches on the hottest, laziest, sleepiest, busiest, 2 hands-in-casts day. Of course I knit considerably more that 10 stitches most days, but the resolution made me continue when I hit a major snag in a project or when I needed to cast on another project (2 of my downfall moments). There were a few days when it was 10 PM before I picked up my knitting. But I succeeded! I knit at least 10 stitches every day in 2018. I completed 34 projects! They're all listed on my Ravelry project pages if anyone is interested. (I'm Cimmanon on Ravelry as well as here on KP.)

I did KALs and MKALS and test knits, oh my! I knit my first pair of socks then knit 3 more pairs. I learned brioche. I did some fair isle, some lace, and some cabling. All in all, I had a great time.

For 2019 I'm modifying the resolution to read "Knit or crochet at least 10 stitches a day." I had a problem this year when I wanted to crochet a shawl.

The resolution I made and kept is to not make resolutions. That way I don't beat myself up when I fail. I just keep plugging along trying my best each day.

Have you heard of Mini Habits? Your idea made me think of the book. It's a worthwhile practice.

No, I had never heard of 'mini-habits' - but looked on Amazon and there are over 7 books with 'mini habits' in the title - and that was just on the 1st page of 46 pages --- I only looked at the first page. if this works so well, though it might make a good read. The book you recommend was published in 2013 it is probably at the library - I'll look into it -- next year!
