I have been wanting to make another knit dress for some time. In my huge stash of patterns I found two of interest. One was for a simple black dress. So I thought okay it doesn’t have to be black I’ll try it. I chose a lovely dress weight yarn in red violet. After I knit the front and back I realized I would run out of yarn. This wasn’t right a one pound cone of Diamente should be sufficient! Well it turned out that the pattern was for a longer length dress. I rewound the yarn and went back to the patterns I had put aside. The other pattern was for a sweater dress and showed a motif on the front. I almost never do a pattern exact to the designers instructions. I decided to put fair Isle for the upper front and back and to make the sleeves fitted but three quarters in length. I also recalculated the length of the dress to suit my five foot height. I had just enough yarn with a foot left over. I’m over the moon with my results.
What a lovely dress it is! Congratulations to you for a wonderful outcome.

Nice work, it looks beautiful on you.....
It's a beautiful dress and as you said a perfect fit.
Wow! That’s inspiring. I’ve been wanting some mid thigh sweaters because all I seem to wear these days are yoga pants.
It boggles my mind to think about knitting a DRESS! It is GORGEOUS! Well done!
