Anyone remember flying purple people eater? One-eyed one horned flying purple people eater. I can't remember who sang it, but was the first one my brother bought.

I can't remember the name of the first 45 rpm, but remember playing Bill Black's Combo; Allyoop; and Muleskinner blues (a few that my dad didn't appreciate. I do remember being a member of the Columbia Record Club in the 50s and built a big collection of lp's (33 1/3). Lots of 'big bands'; Frank Sinatra; Perry Como; Bing Cosby. Still have about 100 lp's but no longer have a record player.

Purple People Eater was sung by Sheb Woolley. I used to have a copy of that, too.
And did you ever hear "Purple People Eater Meets the Witch Doctor" by Joe South? Truly wonderfully awful.

Bread, I want to make it with you, and Simon and Garfunkel, Bridge over troubled water. LP's for both.

I was 16 and paid weekly. I saved my paychecks for almost a month.

I still have them.

I remember Purple People Eater, but don't remember him meeting the Witch Doctor. I'll have to see if it's on youtube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieW-VsXt9qs Here it is by The Big Bopper. Joe South wrote it.
