Nobody does this anymore.
I remember shopping with Mama for new clothes every Easter. Pics of kids in their Easter refinery. Got any pics of those good o' days? Please dig them out and post here, I would enjoy to see them.

I remember. I used to go to Buffalo to buy a new hat and matching shoes. Haven't done that for years.

Every spring my mom and dad would buy me a new outfit for Easter - new dress, shoes, spring coat and bonnet. I would wear it first on Easter Sunday for church and then that would be my dress up outfit for the rest of the year. I also had a new dress for Christmas that would be my winter outfit for special occasions. Mom and dad worked very hard and didn't have a lot of money but I was an only child so any extra money would be saved for just these special outfits. We did the same for our 3 girls.. Easter, first day of school and Christmas outfits. Our girls still talk about those special "shopping sprees" and dad always joined us and took his 4 girls(I was the 4th) to lunch. Special times, special memories.

It was a tradition with our family too. We were taught that putting on all new clothes and shoes for Easter symbolized putting on our new life in Christ as we celebrated His resurrection on Easter. I have some great Easter photos, if I can find them ...

The one and only year we all got new clothes for Easter, we all had full blown chicken pox by Good Friday. That was the end of that.

I remember reading about this custom in a novel, when I was a little girl, and wishing it was a custom here!

Boy!
I believe we did that, I remember I would get a white hand muff thing, that hung on your neck & you put your hands in it. There would always be a new Easter Dress & Bonnet, we would visit my Dad’s parents & then visit & eat some big dinner at my Moms parents. They were into the Easter Dinner event.

I have no pictures, they got lost or tossed🤷🏼‍♀️❓

I think my brother, got a new Easter suit & tie, he was older than me & Easter was in April one year & somehow the boys in Family were horsing around on the dock, I am pretty sure all the boys fell in the lake out front & they all got wet, in their new suits, all three of them. I do not remember us dressing up after the Boys um fell in the lake. Boy, my Mom was peeved. I don’t know what a Boys new suit cost in the early 70’s.....

We dressed up for Easter when I was little as well. (I hated it) and we dressed up for church every Sunday as well. I was a tomboy and I hated dresses. Still won't wear them

Every spring my mom and dad would buy me a new out... (show quote)

Yup, me too! That was the only time we got new clothes, too!! And oh boy how we looked forward to it. Well, I was already working when I was 8 so I would work really hard and fast so's I could earn extra...that way I could pick out what "I" wanted and not what my mother wanted me to get.

Every Easter from the age of about 6 my Mum would buy me a new outfit with matching hat for Easter Sunday - it then became my Sunday best outfit for Church for as long as it would fit me! No photos unfortunately ...

As kids we dressed up for Easter but I don’t remember any new outfits...had a snap of my mother and her two older brothers, though. They were decked out in obviously spanking-new outfits...Mom had a bonnet and a huge smile, her two brothers looked sulky in their stiff new suits.
