Yup. Portuguese knitting in which the knits are the reverse of Norwegian purls. The cast on looks funny but it is just an another way to do a long tail cast on.

I agree it looks like Portuguese knitting but the way she is doing the knit stitch looks a little different to me.

You are right. She is left handed - as can be seen when she does the sewing up, at the end.

This is possibly why it seems a little 'different' to right handers watching.

It certainly is an unusual way to knit. I liked the socks though.
