The ladies at our church knit or crochet squares and I put them together and we give them to the men in our church who are I'll or just had surgery. This will be going to a great guy who had a stint out in. I am going around it and hoping for it to be finished by Sunday. Working in the truck on our way across the state. Yes the ladies get beautiful shawls.
I just went to a specialist and my shoulders hurting is requiring shoulder replacement! He told me I was too young to have this problem. Surgery is scheduled for June 18. Best news is he told me I can knit!

This is a pretty join. Do you edge each one a row and then join or is it one row that joins ? My least favorite part of granny squares is putting them all together.

I crochet around each square and then crochet the strips and then join the strips together.

What a lovely and thoughtful idea, making and giving afghans for the gentlemen and shawls for the ladies. Also sending prayers and best wishes for your shoulder replacement surgery.

Looks fantastic! I have wanted to do something with all the leftovers I have but didn't now how to make nice joins. It would be a wonderful project for a beginning knitter also.

I was told you can't put knit and crochet together. It makes a fun texture. The men really do enjoy them. The more colorful the better.
