I want to make the Vermont Felted Bag by machine. Pattern found on Valley Farms a bit ago. I am going to use my knit king 260. Hand pattern says to cast on 34 sts. that is for hand knit. I am going to do 68 sts . For the bottom it says to cast on 3sts. knit 1 row than cast on 3 more sts. Would I be correct to cast on 6 sts each side for shaping of the bottom. Sorry I don't know how to post reference to this pattern.

THank You, daleech

I would start with 6 sts too. However when felted it will make very little difference.

Similar patterns. The free pattern may be easier to convert to machine knitting and adjust size/color changes.
