I've known this girl since she was 3. She was always upside down, I called her Flipper.
She joined a gymnastics training at age 4, the name stuck.
Now she is graduating High School and going onto a gymnastics team in college.
This is the special blanket I made for her.
Took 3 years, the first year was getting the design to suit me. Then trying to make it C2C, I realized I'm not experienced enough at C2C for something this detailed. I switched to 'block stitch' intarsia, it was coming out WAY too big. So I made an afghan using RH Unforgettable in the dragonfly colorway.https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wavy-navy-afghan
And multiple DK yarns to make an applique of the design.
I worked I the last end around 4pm on June 7, the party is 3pm on June 8.
Nothing like cutting it close!
Besides all the restarts I had a few other projects in between.
it's beautiful. she will love it.
