For days there have been many, many comments and responses about Ravelery's recent decision.

ALMOST everyone agrees that knitting sites are not, should not be, and nor do they want them to be, political forums.

Yet, passions run deep and political arguments continue and insults are hurled (under the guise of free speech), in the sections supposedly reserved for knitting comments and questions. If this is not what the majority of the members want and truly is the case.....

Can it please just stop?

Stop responding. Stop commenting. Stop the war of words. Turn your anger and frustration back to dropped stitches; badly written patterns; yarn barfs, hidden knots; scratchy yarn, and all the other maddening things about this art form we so love. Lets get back to focusing on kindness and being helpful to each other on this site.

Please. 💜
Happy Independence Day!

Well said!! Unless the politico knits, crochets, etc., there is no reason to mention them here. And then only in regards to knitting, etc.

Agree! It appears to be lessening! I hope that's not just wishful thinking!

I agree. It all needs to stop. I have not been on this site long, but it is getting worse everyday. When I first joined everyone was so nice and helpful, now it seems to be more ranting and raving about non crafting stuff and more negative comments are made by some. I do thank all of the wonderful nice and polite and helpful KPers on this site and ignore the nastiness. I have met several wonderful ladies on this site and am becoming good friends with them and would like that to continue.

Enjoyed your posting very much, and sincerely hope and pray it has a healing effect. Our nation could certainly use some unity. Thank you for your concern.

So the way to stop talking about a subject is to create a whole new topic about the subject that you no longer want to discuss? Seems counter productive to me.
