As some of you know I decided after my son died , that I would sell my knitted baby out fits and donate the money to 2 charities that help look after people with cancer
Ive been very lucky selling everything I've put up for sale on Ebay and a few here on KP
The last time a lady bought some outfits on ebay and as usual once the money was paid I printed off the address provided on Ebay and posted off the parcel , here in the UK once the parcel is posted it usually takes about 2 days to arrive , well fast forward to 10 days later and this lady gets in touch to say it hadnt arrived , which I understand can happen so I checked with Post service and yes parcel had been delivered as usual , now here is were it gets strange , the lady is still saying it hasnt arrived so I check and she has a complete different address up to the one I posted the parcel too , but how can that be when I got the address directly from Ebay what is even more strange is the address that the parcel went to is only 7 minutes away from where this lady lives , I've obviously refunded the money but I've just got a feeling that somehow I've been scammed , just not sure who by

One thing I know I will have to find somewhere else to sell my items as I dont think I can trust Ebay anymore

You should take this up with ebay, do you use paypal?
I have used ebay and paypal for about 12 years, never had any issues.

You should not have refunded. Firstly did you use the address on the paypal account? If so then you are covered by paypal they will not make you refund her also if it was signed for then both ebay and paypal would have covered you.

You should have referred her (given her the royal mail or courier link) to the confirmed delivery ie that it's been signed for.

Always use paypal when selling or buying on ebay as then when you follow their rules you will be covered by both paypal and ebay policies.

The only time when using ebay you don't use paypal is when it's collection only thing then it's a cash not cheque or paypal transaction where the money changes hands when the item is collected.

hope that helps.

edited to add

If the parcel as gone to the wrong address and you have put your return address on the parcel you can only hope the wrong person might write on the parcel not known at this address return to sender and pop it back into the postbox when they realize it's not addressed to them.

I did give her the courier link and thats when I found out the address I printed off from ebay is different to the one she has up now , so her reply was its my fault that the parcel was sent to wrong address , just cant understand how its happened but I'm trying my hardest to find out , when Ive looked online its happened before and the people have had to just cut their losses ,

She could easily go to that old address to check it out, there’s always one and they spoil it for the rest! Did you ask her if she used to live at that address? At best she’s not being helpful such a shame for you. So sorry about your son didn’t realise that had happened. Irene x

So sorry. I don't use ebay at all, so I can't help with an answer to your problem, but I have to wonder why bad things happen to good people. So sad. Good luck working through this, and I hope you find the resolution.

Started to get a bit abusive , so I thought I would try to get to the bottom of this by getting in touch with Ebay , will see what happens , at the worst Ive lost a few outfits , but it is annoying that things like this happen

Refunding was what I would have done too - just good business - unfortunately once in a while things like this happen, I feel your pain!
