My daughter so loved the red one that I made and said she would like two made for her girlfriend who is wheel chair bound with MS. She is meeting her for lunch at her home tomorrow..so I knew that I would NEVER have two of my complicated knitted ones done in 2 days! I found some lavender 4 ply cotton and an odd ball of pure white and crocheted these instead which made up very quickly. With a nice naturally perfumed Australian Olive Oil soap, I am sure she will love it. Different too, as a gift, as we tend to not use these hand made face washers in Australia. Her friend has been slowly deteriorating over the past 10 years and is now only able to teletext and has no use of her arms or legs, relying on almost 24hr care with constant home nursing. At 42 years of age it is such a long drawn out cruel death...sometimes things like this make us realise our problems are miniscule, compared to many others who suffer in silence.

You’re a good mum Christine. MS can be a horrible disease, my lovely sister in law lost her battle with MS when she was in her 40’s it was just dreadful. I hope your gift brings a little joy to your daughters friend. Thank you for reminding us that we have a lot to be thankful for. I think I will stop whinging about my broken toe now!

Very pretty and a beautiful combo with the soap. Yes, we do need to stop and be greatful for our blessings as so many others are suffering.

Nice gift.. There is a crochet ripple pattern wash cloth in dc that works up quickly and is fun.
MS is a really sad disease and it is good of your daughter to remain friends with this lady.

My daughter has been her constant companion all these years seeing her friend deteriorate from crutches, to a wheel chair, to now being immobile and having to be carried by her husband. It all started with flu type symptoms after her honeymoon..what should have been a joyous new life together rapidly deteriorated to a disabled beautiful gentle soul falling apart!
My daughter is a care worker, but her friend just wants her "to be there" and not do the intimate personal care for her. She says that is what they pay people to do, not for her friends to have to do that sort of thing! It has been an enduring friendship, when many others departed in droves" in case it was catching"! Angie has had breast cancer and double mastectomies..She likewise lost friends too, "in case it was catching!" Stupid people like that live charmed lives and never suffer any hardships. At least these two girls have stuck together through their shared adversities.

Very kind of both of you. And lovely work. The white one looks suspiciously like a granny square, yay.

Yes it is a granny square! I needed to give my brain a rest after the red one! The lavender is one row treble and 2 rows hdc..in English terminology. But both worked up quickly.

What a beautiful friend your daughter is! And a blessing to someone who is in such dire straits. You've made a lovely gift for her and I'm sure she will appreciate your kindness. There but by the grace of God go I. Prayers for you all.

Sad, but of tremendous beauty, too, that the two friends have given each other such comfort.
With MS, I always think of the wonderful Cellist, Jacqueline Du Pres, and how that cruel disease robbed her, and us of her talent.
I picked up the blue cotton ripple pattern cloth that you posted the pattern for, a couple of days ago. I am up to row 8 now, but it is slow going, and does demand concentration!
I had an excellent day out shopping in the beautiful winter sun we were blessed with today. I now have a charging gadget (the name escapes me) for my mobile, ten balls of Italian cotton that were $1 each, and a ball of the Italian organic cotton I had hoped to find. But the balls at $1 each were too good to pass up! Oh, and in order to get full value on my birthday voucher, a ream of printer paper.
One day, hopefully I will get a new printer! My old one was impossible, the screen was barely one centimeter by two. I would like one that will enlarge.
But when my dividend comes in at the end of September, new glasses are earmarked as highest priority!
