My goodness - what am incredible experience. I see your pictures as illustrations in a children’s book, Liz.
I see the name of the book “Tatty”.
Keep up the good work. You are truly a keeper of wildlife!
Thank You

Liz, I love to look at birds, so appreciate your pics! However, I can’t touch birds and might freak out if one were to land on any part of my body, particularly my head. I had a bad childhood experience with a parakeet 😧.

have you seen the swift bricks? We're thinking of getting a couple - https://swift-conservation.org/swift_bricks.htm

Great idea, if only we had enough swifts! Unfortunately our insect population is way down because of the drought so there's nothing to attract them. We were going to construct a couple of bat boxes too, but haven't seen any microbats here for years. Such a shame.

Oh dear. What a shame. It is such a lovely feeling, as long as you don't mind holding wriggly worms in your palm.

I had an older relative who, when he was a baby, could be traumatised into not moving from the spot, by simply putting a feather in front of him. It always seemed to me to be a cruel thing to do to a baby - but his mother seemed to think it was amusing when she recounted the story! I never did find out what had started his terror of feathers!

The robin now also comes to my husband for mealworms - and one of our grand daughter's had it feeding from her hand yesterday. The other 3 haven't tried to do it yet.

I think so too - as is all the wildlife we must take care to protect. The environment is so very fragile.
Thanks caseykey.

Your pictures are fabulous!!! We feed many birds and they aren't scared of us any longer but to feed one out of our hand is impossible.
