How amazing is this? Cold wet windy miserable days and a blast of bright yellow Wattle assails the senses when walking Sebastian tonight!
The Aboriginal lore says they have 6 Seasons in a year and not 4. I believe that to be very true!
Isn't this a gorgeous puffy flower. There are 1000's of different types of Acacia in colours of white through to almost an orange but this colour shown seems to be the most prolific. Enjoy!

Lovely. Seems your winters are "slightly" different than ours in New Hampshire, USA. Our "winter flowers" all blossom in the house.

She sure is! Never fails to stop me in my steps and make me wonder at how utterly perfect Nature is and yet many people are too busy to stop and just appreciate, the simple, free gifts in life!
My little grand daughter's are so rapt in Nature! Elouise got into trouble recently at school because she told her Teacher "not to tread on Nature"! The teacher killed the bee regardless and Elouise said "you stupid cruel woman"! Teacher said what did you say? And Elouise said "you heard me!" Well she got told to go to the Front Office and little 7 year old Elouise said"my absolute pleasure thank you!" OMG! She sounded just like ME bless her, but she regaled the Principal word for word and he agreed that Nature had to be protected BUT..and Elouise said "no buts! Just do it!" I adore these two little girls who look on everything as priceless! She came home from her walk with me last Friday with a big toad that she walked up to, picked up and placed it in her terrarium "for a rest for a couple of days until he is better!" She duly returned it to the creek the next night and saw it swim away! So it had recovered from whatever illness she perceived that it had! Ha ha!

This is a big tree, laden with flowers, hanging across our walkway along the local creek. Spring is not supposed to be until September 1st, but Wattles of all types are flowering everywhere in cold wet Adelaide it seems!

Bless her heart!

Our wattles will start to bloom next month. Looking forward to seeing all that green and gold - provided the drought has not knocked them for six.
