Use smaller needles and thinner yarn but follow the written pattern. If pattern suggests worsted and US7-8 needle take this down to a dk weight and US6. And swatch, swatch, swatch to experiment with different yarns and needle sizes.

Try the knitted Knockers website. They have wonderful patterns. They leave the backside open for stuffing, or removing stuffing. www.knittedknockers.org

Yes, and the knitted knockers patterns are designed so that they can be made from size A right up to DD. Patterns available for crocheted or knitted.

a) she can request one from: https://www.knittedknockers.org/

b) you can use the patterns and suggested yarns found at that same website

Good luck to you both!

Not sure what pattern you are using. KK patterns gives several sizes. FREE patts
BUT here is a link to KK. They will also give her one free.
BUT they also have several patterns available. Many sizes and you can modify also with the amt of stuffing

Thinner yarn and smaller needle using same stitch count will make a little smaller...or same yarn weight ,same needle size and smaller stitch count. Just how much smaller you want willdetermine just which way you choose to alter the pattern.

If these are for a mastectomy patient and the 2 needle type that you are knitting, involves seams...I do have some advice. Mastectomy scars are generally highly sensitive, mine are and I know many other women with that issue. Seams are not something that will feel comfortable against those scars.

They have a pattern for knitting them flat. It is no longer used for their knockers due to negative feedback from recipients, but you can use it to donate to someone directly.

The link you have posted is for the type knitted in the round with double pointed needles. The 2 needle pattern, knit flat has been discontinued and for good reason.
