I started the lion brand shawl in a ball and ripped it out . Don’t like the yarn or pattern. Looked too Lacey. It was a request by DD
Who does not knit. I used bamboo needles because that’s what I had in correct size. Yarn did not work good with them.
Any other suggested patterns to use with this yarn? It will be a one off as I would not buy this yarn again. Guess I’m looking for sympathy. LOL.

I was curious about how the colors would work up. I most definitely did not like working with this. Shawl will go to mission shop

Sympathy. Well, the only thing I can offer is .... that I don't know what you're talking about; Yarn in a Ball? I'm not being facetious... I truly don't understand.

This yarn has a halo so you would best use a slick needle like metal. And a needle slightly larger than you might think for the core of the yarn looks skinny. It knit one rectangular shawl and I crocheted one. Both turned out lovely and surprisingly warm. The color changes were subdued in the colorways I used and worked up nicely. No sympathy from me I'm afraid. If you used bamboo needles and they did not work well, change to something else.

I've used Shawl in a Ball for the Boom wrap and liked it okay, but like you, don't know if I'd use it again.

Shawl in a ball is a brand that has enough yarn in the ball to make one shawl.
I’ve made a couple with great success

Good morning ... I have knitted several shawls with "Shawl in a Ball", including one "Calzone", two "Multnomah", and a couple of crescent-shaped wraps. I enjoyed working with the yarn (not so much the metallic), and I was very happy with the results. (In two instances, my friend put on the shawl and did not take it off the whole time we were together. 😊)

there are almost 5000 projects made with this yarn ..... and is rated 4 out of 5 stars
as others have advised, needles made of metal or plastic would probably play nicer with this yarn.

did you use one strand of yarn or two? When I used one strand it appeared to be thin. Can you give us some insight; please?
