My 6 year old grand daughter was helping to take bags of limes to the Community garden with her mother and sister. They leave fruit and pick spinach, kale and sometimes strawberries and carrots etc in return. A simple enjoyable pass time..They WEED and water this garden in Summer and it is a hobby of sorts and educational for them too! Two nights ago she let out a scream and my daughter found a discarded syringe sticking in her finger. How could these awful people throw away their filthy syringes in an area patronized by children familes and pets, just having fun together!?!? Police were called and the local Council came closed off the garden "to clean it up!" Poor little Alexia had to have bloods taken yesterday, but was so brave...totally unaware though of the consequences of what was happening. My daughter is terrified and absolutely hostile with the thought of having "druggies" virtually on her doorstep...she is trying to escape her drug addict estranged husband and is "in hiding from him" to protect her children and now this happens!

At least in San Francisco the druggies and addicts leave them out on sidewalks and streets where they can be seen!

I would be a little worried too. She will have to have a few more blood draws, to determine if HIV or Hep C are present. The odds are in her favor.
I find it absolutely mind blowing that any user would leave their works behind. Just amazing.

I hope your granddaughter will be OK and that you and your daughter get some good results back from the blood tests.

Sorry to hear this. I feel for you and your family with the worrying time ahead. You always have nice tales to tell about the grandies and their adventures and now this happens. Trust that there will be a good result.
