Today is our 44th anniversary. I am with DH at the rehab unit. I brought in a special meal for both of us to share. He looked at our wedding picture album & could identify most everyone. But he really has no memories of the day. Sad the way Alzheimer's steals you from yourself & your history. So I'm remembering for both of us. He doesn't converse much at all anymore but it's just good to be together. One day at a time.

As our friend said, they may forget you but you have not forgotten them. So glad you had a pleasant day!

Congratulations charbaby. Brought tears to my eyes when I continued reading. I salute you for your “for better or worse”. 🐢

Happy Anniversary! Togetherness can be soothing and comforting. Does your hubby smile every once in a while?

Once in a while. It's fleeting, but I love to see a genuine smile on his face. Doesn't laugh much anymore. We used to do a lot of that. Time asks much from most of us sooner or later.

My heart goes out to you and to him. You seem to be dealing with this very courageously, doing what you can to be as happy as you can. Believe me, my best wishes and greatest respect are yours.

You are one very strong lady and I admire you.
It is not easy having a loved one who has such a sad disease.
I have been through what you are going through now and you certainly have my sympathy.
Stay strong for both of you.

My heart goes out to you. I know just how hard it can be.

I'm in Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. Had a Sarcoma wrapped around my kidney. They are both gone now and our 51st is on Sun!

Happy Anniversary.

It is good your hubby remembers part of it and you are able to help him with the rest.
