I have a 16" circular needle, Knitters Pride brand, that has a terrible join between the cable and the needle. The yarn shop where I purchased it is no longer in business and I wonder if anyone can tell me if there's any way to resolve this issue. I have tried to communicate with the company online but was unsuccessful.

Try getting in touch with WEBS knitting. They sell Knitters Pride and have been very helpful when I have had a problem.

I was just going on Webs to see if they carry Addi needles. I would order them to use instead. I will ask about the Knitters Pride while I'm there. Thank you.

Webs will not resolve this issue and told me to get in touch with Knitters Pride online. I'll look at that again since the Webs rep said there is a place to do that. I did order an Addi replacement and I think I will be happier with that needle.

Jimmy Beans may be your solution. https://www.jimmybeanswool.com/brokenNeedleExchange.asp

Have a broken needle that you didn't order from us? Not a problem! We'll still take back damaged needles, even if you didn't purchase them from us (of course, as long as we carry needles from that company). We do ask for $1 in shipping charges, in order to send you a new pair.

Hmmm. I think for the price of sending them in plus a dollar for handling, as reasonable at it is, I'd just look at Handsome Fibers, watch for a sale day (they may do a Labor Day sale) or order enough to get a discount or at least free shipping and buy a new needle. It's too bad about the shop you bought from going out of business.

Jimmy Beans has great customer service but I think GrumpyGramma is right, it would cost more than it's worth to send it and then pay shipping back. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Get some teflon tape (as you would use on your shower bar threads)--wrap the joins, incl. before/after. :)hb

Thanks. I'll try the teflon tape.

You can find the Knitter Pride’s forum on Ravelry and post your situation there. The moderator seems very helpful in resolving problems and getting replacement needles sent.

Blessings,
Mary

I suggest to get in touch with the company making the needles. About a year ago one of my chiao goo needles separated fro my the cord and all I needed to do was to send them a picture of the needles and they replace them without further questions.

I prefer Addi needles too. Have you ever looked at the site addineedleshop.com? I order from her a lot, I think her prices are the best I can find, ships quickly too.

All the suggestions you all gave are great. Tmkt1998: I will try Ravelry for the Knitters Pride problem and lola grace: Thank you for the address for Addi needles, I will look at that too. Thanks to all of you who responded.

I had a similar issue with this company. I purchased the needles on Amazon. When one broke away from the metal end I emailed the company. They told me to take it back to the lys where purchased. I informed them of buying the needles on Amazon. They told me they do not do individual replacements. 6 months later to my surprise I received a set of replacement needles. You could have bowled me over with a feather.

Jimmy Beans will replace any needle even if you did not purchase it from them. Of course they must carry the brand in question and you do need to send them your faulty needle plus $1.
