This morning in my email inbox was a notice that Ice Yarns is having a sale on Baby Summer yarn. Be still my heart. Yesterday as I was working on another Bedtime Gnome I noticed I am nearly out of the original colors I bought. This yarn is so lovely. It is cotton and acrylic and soft. It is nice to knit with and works up so beautifully. I have used it for the Bedtime Gnomes (which are enchanting), the dolls from 50 Knitted Dolls and many baby bibs. (The bibs have been a particular favorite). It is a wonderful yarn for Florida as we have summer 9-10 months a year. I would like to knit a couple of cardigans, a bolero and a dress for my granddaughter.
When I knit the first Bedtime Gnomes I used a US6. I am using a US3 for the newest one I am working on and I like the effect much more. The ones pictured have been knit with the US6. I have not gotten the newest one sewn together. She is all in pieces.
So...although I scolded myself and said I would not purchase more yarn until I had worked down the stash I have, I bought more. 7 colors in packs of 8 with shipping comes to $87.88 or $1.57 skein.
I need discipline and self control.
As an aside, everyone who sees the Bedtime Gnome wants one. I had to replenish my stock.
In pieces. Doll and bibs
Coming together. Needs his shirt.
Order some Alara while you are at it. Similar but different colors.
The bed time gnomes are beautiful.
Your gnomes look so cuddly!
Love the bed time gnomes. Received the same notice and was wondering about the yarn; so thank you for the input.
Is there a pattern for the bedtime gnomes? They are adorable.
So cute, you do such a nice job! No wonder you couldn't resist, enjoy that great price and the lovely yarn.
Really, really cute gnomes!
Good for you! The control and discipline is that you use it and will continue to knit! Right? Lol! Great gnomes!
Those are the cutest gnomes ever. I'm not a gnome fan but I could hug one of those forever.
