It just like a yard whenI was growing up,Got a finger caught once in the mangle,Dolly tub and dolly,water you then be used to shrub the yard floor,

Mine too, and the toilet was out there as well News paper on a string hanging on a nail on the wall

Oh my goodness, I've just remembered that, also we had to hold on to the washing line in the dark so that we could find the toilet, it was so cold in the winter, my nan also had rhubarb growing in the coal house, it's funny what memories come back but now I can't remember why I walked into a room lol

I knew a woman who got her boob caught in an electric wringer. She had to have a mastectomy, poor soul! My grandfather used to go to the public baths once a week for his bath. Never figured that out since he had a full bathroom in his flat.

He probably didn't want to make it dirty!! As a 'new gadget', he maybe didn't trust it to keep working.

When we moveto a modern house Mum bought a new washing machine,She hated the electric wringer,often got clothes stuck till someone came home and released the rollers,
