It's been awhile since I posted any finished projects. I have a good reason--number 4 grandchild, a boy, William, was born June 30 at 8 pounds 8 ounces! A big boy! I knit him a newborn sweater before his birth and it never fit him! So I have just finished a navy blue hoodie that should fit him through the fall--no guarantees for next spring.
Then on September 5, we welcomed number 5 grandchild, a girl named Margaret (Maggie) in Nashville, TN. My husband and I traveled down there a week before she was born and then stayed another week after her birth to help with her two big brothers, ages 5 and 3. Now we are back home and I'm exhausted and ready to relax with knitting.
We have another grandchild due in January. They are not finding out ahead of time if it is a boy or girl so I may just knit white! We feel blessed to have these little kiddos! And I love knitting for all of them.
Here is my navy hoodie. The pattern is free at redheart.com. It is called Play Date Cardie. It called for a DK weight yarn, but I subbed Wool-Ease by Lion Brand. My gauge didn't match the one on the pattern so I knit a 12 month size although he is only 2 and a half months old. Did I mention he weighs almost 16 pounds? I also knit 5 buttonholes down the front instead of just 3 at the top. This is an easy, fun pattern to knit.
How wonderful - all these new little blessings. The hoodie is perfect!
You are so blessed! Cute little hoodie!

You're so lucky with all the grandchildren coming. Mine have stopped. Have eight from 20 down to 4. Looking forward to great grandchildren but I think I am in for a long wait!
Wow grandma! Aren't they fun? I'm going to try that sweater for my grandson who is 8 months old.
Looks lovely. Congratulations on all the grandchildren.
Congratulations to you and the parents of these babies! I just adore knitting for my grands!
