I just moved here in May and really miss my groups. I had a crochet group, a hand knitting group and a machine knitting group. If not
is there anyone out there wanting to start an informal group?

Welcome to KP, and the central CA. I lived in that area for several decades and loved it (recently moved out of CA now). If you use the "user list" menu function at the top of the page and insert the names of the cities in the "search by location" area, you can contact Kprs in that area.

By the way, there is a yarn shop located by the San Luis Obispo Mission in the center of town (Yarns at the Adobe I think it was called) that holds a weekly knitting group, I think if you want to start there.

I'm constantly amazed by how helpful KPERS are!

Thank you for sharing this info. I didn’t know I could do this. I discovered 6 other people in my little town who are registered here.

There are lots of knitting groups in this area! There are even two groups at the AG Library - they have signs posted out front with times and such. The local knitting store at the end of Grand near the beach has different groups, too. There is also a weekly knitting class through AG Parks and Recreation that starts up again on October 9. You can register online if you want, or visit the class on October 9 and see whether you like it. It is at St. John's Lutheran Church on Valley and Los Berros Road on Friday's at 9 AM.

Carole, glad to see you are reaching out to find a replacement for Yarn Babes in your new life. If you remember, that's just how Yarn Babes came into being: by searching for KP members in the towns around me. I have moved to Pasadena now, but I still make most of the YB gatherings. Happy landings! Flo
