Hi All,
My name is Michael or Mikee :) I am Charlotte80's grandson and I recently started and completed my 2nd project. My Grandma posted my 1st knitting project ever not too long ago. It was a dish rag. I was excited to see all of the amazing posts about it so I wanted to go ahead and post my second project. Its a Watermelon pink scarf. It was a relatively easy pattern and it took me a little bit longer to complete it than i thought, bur yesterday I finished it:) I hope that you all like it ;)

I can't believe how even your stitches are for only your second project. I hope you continue to knit and try new things. Knitting is a great hobby and you end up with beautiful things. Can't wait to see what you knit next.

jankay-

I am sorry you lost your Mother, I lost my daughter a little more than a year ago and surviving someone you loved so much is very, very difficult in those first days and months. The pain never stops, but becomes bearable, I promise. I suggest you continue doing all the knitting and donating you can in honor and memory of her. I have found knitting my biggest solace in my loss. It helps soothe me and is productive (whereas just sitting and being lost within all the thoughts in your head is not).

You found this forum and figured out how to post, you are way ahead of your game! There are many here who will help you do specific things when you ask.

The only information I have at this time is to gently inform you that when someone uses ALL CAPS when writing on the internet it is like yelling and people are often sensitive to it. I would recommend making sure your CAPS LOCK key isn't pressed before you write.

Please share an image of the afghan she left you if you can, we'd love to see it.

Awesome Mikee! You finished your first scarf, you are now officially "a knitter". Congratulations and I love the color of your scarf and agree that your consistent tension is wonderful for a first scarf. I don't see a single dropped stitch!
Great work! I agree with Anita H--your stitches are very even and that makes the scarf look great. I love the color.
Beautiful control, Mikee. You are now a precision knitician! I just coined that term especially for you! I can't wait to see your next creation ^;^
Very nice job, keep up the good work. I am teaching my grandaughter in WA to knit and I am in CA. We have been using Skype for lessons, its been great fun.
Great Job!!! Welcome to the most-wonderful world of knitting!!! Keep it up
Hey, Mikee! I teach basic knitting classes to college-age folks. I have 17 students and 3 are guys! You are def not alone! You did an amazingly good job on that scarf! As others have told you, you've got good, even stitches! Keep up the great work and create cool stuff!
Mikee, That is a beautifully done scarf. Your stitch tension and neatness rivals even we old knitters who have been at it for many many years. Keep up the good work! Love to hear of boys knitting. My 10 year old grandson has asked me to teach him & I am thrilled!
Mikee .. Great work for a beginner .. great for anyone! Keep up the good work.
Good job Mikee, I am proud of you. Keep up the good work!
Good job! I like your choice of color.
I love your scarf....I'm sure whoever will get to wear it will also : )
Fantastic Mikee! You are a very even knitter. Great job!
