I decided to start this the day that I heard a friend of my DH just had her first baby. I didn't think it would take very long...I was wrong! It took me over 2 weeks. I am a very slow knitter...but it's done. I'm so glad it's done. There were so many ends to weave in. I decided to use some of my existing stash which is the reason for the unconventional "baby" colors. But I think the colors are a fun combination. Hope you enjoy.
The blanket is Caron pattern Mirbeau Slip Stitch Baby Blanket: http://www.naturallycaron.com/projects/mirbeau/mirbeau_1.html
Hat: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/swirl-hat-3
Mitts: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fingering-weight-baby-mittens (I shortened the cuff)
I used Mary Maxim Ultra MellowSpun DK for all the items

I love the colors. It will be appropriate for a boy or girl. The patterns are lovely. I'm inspired to try them. Thanks for sharing.

I think the bright colors are so nice to give to a new Mom and Dad. I like to call them Warm Smile Color's.
