First of all, I should have known better than to knit this in acrylic - others on Ravelry had complained that the edges rolled terribly. But I had this pretty blue yarn, in the right amount…

My desperation move, after trying a single crochet & an I-cord border that didn’t help, was to thread a tapestry needle & use a sort of Bickford stitch to draw in the edge to the first column of knit stitches. Anyone else try offbeat methods to resolve a knitting problem?

Yes, amazingly it did work!
That's great! I vaguely remember reading somewhere that you can take one of the stitches at your cast off edge (3-5 stitches in) and let it run down so that it produces a space with no stitch. Sorry if I am not describing it right, but there used to be a shawl that was made using this same treatment - don't know the name of it either. Anyway, that space will stop the roll.

I’m so glad your hack worked, that’s very creative. I’m just trying to figure out, though, since this isn’t really stockinette, why it curls. I read some project notes on Ravelry and several knitters mention the curl.
