I just eye balled a doily pattern on a site and sort of winged it. I will tell you how I did the top. I used an H hook and worsted wt yarn, the same as for the flower. For the crown I made a magic ring and did 12 SC into it. SL ST to join Round 1: CH 3 , 1 DC in same space as join.* CH 3, DC in next ST, repeat from *, SL ST to 1st DC. Round 2: SL ST to 1st CH 3 loop, 1 SC into loop, * CH 5, SC into next loop, repeat from* around, SL ST to 1st SC. Round 3: CH 3, work 6 DC into each CH 5 loop, SL ST to top of CH3. As I said I'm terrible at writing patterns!

made this one last night. the pattern came from Dot Matthews (bythehook) you can find it on Crochetville it is called On Safari. She has many free hat patterns listed there that are very nice! The hat is sized for an adult but I used dk wt yarn and it fits a child.
