I went to our local town and found the road was closed to cars. I decided to walk the rest of the way. I noticed men putting bunting up on the pub and that the pub had changed its name. The next few shops also had new names. Strange, I thought was dreaming! I walked on to the charity shop which should be called Drop Inn but it was now called Goodwill! Luckily this shop was open so I went in and asked what was happening. Apparently they were making a film and had tranformed the shops to circa 1990. At least I wasn't going mad lol. The charity shop posted on Facebook later in the day so I thought I'd share.

There are films made here, my friends house has been used twice. It is old and pretty quaint. She is paid quite a bit plus hotel accommodation, they take out what they don't want and put there own stuff in then replace things when finished. The church over the fence to me has a playing field and they rent that to put the trailers etc on there for the time they are here. A letter is sent to us in the area so we know what it going on.

My most surreal experience was a trip to my pain management specialist, regularly scheduled for every 3 months' He is also my psychiatrist. When we turned into his parking, it was gone! Not just the parking lot but the entire building! Turns out the college had bought up all the property for a new science department and several blocks were overtaken. He had moved into a new office and there had been a glitch in the mailing notifications to his patients. At first, I thought I would need to see him for more than pain management and was vastly relieved that my mind had not slipped another cog!
I think a whole town changing might have sent me round the bend!

My friend and I were taking a walk down a country lane to the location of several historic houses. When we arrived a movie crew was setting up a scene for a movie. David Carradine was in the scene. We stood off to one side and Rip Torn came over and chatted with us. It was unexpected fun. Both Rip Torn and David Carradine are now dead.

Me too. There were people standing around but filming hadn't started.
We actually got to watch two scenes filmed at the location.

You must have thought you had been dropped into a different dimension! There have been parts of a few movies filmed around here. It usually is a big deal made in the local news so that people know whst is going on
