Hi!

You should click on the link labeled "Black Sheep Jumper Knitting Pattern (Free)". The link will send us to:

web.archive.org/web/20200804050417/http://www.p-hop.co.uk/index.php/patterns/sweaters-and-jumpers/sheep-sweater

Unfortunately this forum split the link address in two, you will need to copy everything (above) and past it on your address bar in your browser...

And then you can choose two versions: the UK pattern or the USA pattern...

How do you get to the actual pattern? I followed several of the links and ended up with the pattern page "not found".

If you copy the entire link that Iloveknitting provided, it should work.

However, if you are still having problems or the link above does not work for you, this one may without the s after http:
http://www.popsugar.com/fashion/how-to-knit-princess-diana-sweater-47964739

Then go to the second paragraph and click on the words: original black sheep knitting pattern

It should take you to the pattern on Wayback archive.

I went to my desktop and after several false starts, was finally able to get to it by cutting and pasting the entire link in iloveknitting's second post. Everything else I tried dead-ended. Will try to post again the entire link that worked:
http://web.archive.org/web/20151201034844/http://www.p-hop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Diana-Black-Sheep-Sweater-download.pdf

Edit: hmmmm. That link just does NOT want to post accurately, and it changes to normal when I try to edit. What should be cut is the portion of the link that starts with http://web.archive. Hope this info helps someone else.

Oh, and when I found the photo on the p-hop page, it was the only pattern where the description was crossed out. The photo was still there, and the description for download, but all the text was crossed out. Clicking on this got me to the "page not found" message. Maybe they removed the link for some reason??? Maybe the royal family's lawyers objected to the use of Diana's photograph for the link? The original pattern has a model in the photograph of the sweater.

I found out this direct link to the PDF:

web.archive.org/web/20151126170154/http://www.p-hop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Diana-Black-Sheep-Sweater-download.pdf

(Remember that you need to copy all the text above and then paste it)

I also found out this video on youtube:

The pattern is on Ravelry too:

A question if I may. This pattern seems to have an English version and a US version and they differ, I think depending on which link you use.

One version gives a gauge of 30 sts and 39 rows for 4" x 4". The other has a gauge of 18 sts = 2" and 23 rows = 2". Both use fingering weight wool 50 gr balls.

I would love to try making this weather but which pattern is correct?

As an example of the difference - One version says cast on 118 stitches for the back while the other US version says cast on 168 stitches. This is for size small in each pattern.
