I've started making some crochet baby hats, to sell. I'm asking €20 ($26) per hat, do you think that is a fair price?

I'd appreciate some feedback if you guys don't mind.

I've started a small etsy shop, and will try selling on Facebook too.

I'm using sirdar snuggly baby soft approx €5 per 50g, acrylic nylon mix,and Rico so soft baby, €5 for 100g,acrylic. Because they are so soft for babies, not cheap, but not expensive either.

I've heard that you take the price of the yarn and double it and add that to the original price... yarn $10, labor $20= $30 for the article. I know that you'll never get what you put into it if you got paid by the hours that you worked the article because no one could afford it!

I may get shouted down but I wouldn't pay that much but people will, the wool to me seems expensive, but then I can't afford it. Just wondered if wool in Ireland is expensive?
BUT this is just my opinion, good luck to you in your shop

I only charge for what it cost me for the wool and do not charge for my time. I have amarket once a month and do extremely well. Maybe I should put my prices up, but I personally would not pay $25 for a childs hat. My baby hats I sell for $5-$8. Baby jackets for up to $14.00 and booties for $4.00 australian that is, blankets start at $25.00 upwards depending on how much work. But good luck with your items.
