I was wondering if anyone has attached knit afghan panels with crochet slip stitch, vs. sewing? If so, did it turn out ok? Thanks, Ingrid

(((((( I have. I thought they came out fine. I used a 'not to tight or not too lose' slip stitch with a hook size suggest off the yarn label.
No threading that needle a lot, right? Great idea!!
What you might do is try it and if you don't like the look, we know how easy crochets stitches frog! Love it!!

Personally I wouldn't do it. Even if you get the tension exactly right, you still end up with a very "raised" seam, almost a welt. The more time consuming "weaved" seam will look much more professional.

I recently completed a crocheted afghan that had 13 strips I had to put together. The pattern called for the crochet slip stitch, so that's what I used and it turned out well. Just be sure not to make the slip stitch too tightly...it looks great!ibe1946 said:

I use it all the time. It is true what Donna says about it creating a "welt", but I call it a design feature. My seaming skills leave a lot to be desired so I think I'm better off with the slip stitch.

hi, just wanted to let you no that i do attach panels/squares with crochet slip stitch. i'v always done that with both crochet and knit, no matter what the project is. i find its very secure. more so then any other way. i'v never had any problems doing it that way. hope this helps.
