Believe it or not, this originally supposed to be a tea cozy ..... well, to make a long story short, the cozy sort of happened, but it was not the right size for my teapot - the pattern looked like it was for the size I needed but the size just didn't work out. So rather than give up, a local knitting guild member and friend of mine suggested that I turn the cozy pieces into a doll outfit. And voila! Presto magic .... and a little redesigning .... the resulting outfit turned out almost better than I expected! It consists of a short cape (or small shawlette that ties), a short-sleeved top (buttons in the back), a wrap-style skirt and a pair of leggings. The skirt can be worn with the top or the leggings with the top and the cape with either or all of them together. This outfit will be adorning a little Christmas tree (along with other outfits knitted by my guild members) and raffled off at a local Christmas event here in Alaska. Some little girl is going to really enjoy this!

Very cute. Just a tip to help you make more money. Take some pictures of the outfit on a doll to have with your display at the raffle. I've made American Girl doll clothes for my club's charity raffle and I think pictures really help.

Nicely done. They are going to thrill the little girl who receives them.

What a sweet outfit! Sure to be a winner for some little (or not so little) girl. :sm24:
