I think it's nice to just add a band of contrasting color or stitch definition to break up the expanse of a blanket. I've done this with baby blankets...this one is all knit stitch but with one row of yarn overs to add ribbon (not necessary for the adult blanket). It's really all up to your creativeness or in keeping with the personality of the person you're gifting. ;-) Lynn
