Can you give us any clues, such as what it is made of, where it was found, size? Depending on size, I’m wondering if it is a lacing tool for making fishing nets, or for lacing canvas or leather.

Looks like steel. Found in our driveway in country in the dirt and gravel. 4 7/8" long. Approximately 1/8 x 3/16 inches width. We have also been finding metal (like car parts and metal cans)on property when clearing out old dead wood.

When we moved into our last house there was a small hillock in the back garden which the children enjoyed playing on. Some years on we investigated it.... an earlier owner had disposed of an unwanted motor bike in it!

I also think it looks like some kind of lacing or canvas needle. I think I may have seen something similar user for leather work… whatever it is, it’s certainly formidable looking!
