I had to make sure I was wearing some light when I was knitting this shawl. Also very bright light. Had never knitted anything black before. Having the silver metallic running through the yarn did help though. Thanks for all your wonderful comments.
To anyone who has not yet tried to do a lace shawl, I highly recommend trying this Ashton Shawlette. This is not an EASY project but it is defintely worth the effort. Dee's tutorial is wonderful; it lays everything out for you. Try using the weight yarn she recommends but don't spend a fortune on the yarn for you first attempt. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at your efforts.

This Ashton is very elegant indeed. You did a wonderful job with the pattern, and it will look fabulous when worn. I love how it turned out. Now I want one in black!
