When I make gifts for a baby shower I use one of these pop open baskets. I fill it and then the mother has it for other things.
The pics are just a couple of what I include, there is always a blanket and toys as well.

Love the idea of a pop up basket, I once gave circular blanket, folded it to look like a flower and put in a basket that could be used for what nots.

Great idea.
I have used fancy under the bed storage boxes when giving afghans at showers. Everything is usable afterwards
