The yarn is very colourful and fun, very soft, but despite the name given by manufacturers, I wouldn't use it for babies because of the wool in it - it is not hypoallergenic. It would be perfect for yang children above the age of 3, if they show no signers of wool allergies. It is softer than usual for wool yarns and I don't really feel it on my hands, but it is still hard for me to breath when I am touch it, so - not for people with asthma and wool alergie.
