I have a 90 year old neighbor who is expecting a great grandson in Sept. She asked me if I could find her an easy basket weave pattern for a blanket she could knit. I have looked on Ravelry and found one, but was wondering if anyone on here might have a pattern. Some of the directions are complicated for her, She is a darling and wants badly to do this. Thanks for any thing you might come up with.

I don't have a baby blanket pattern, but did make a basket weave pattern sweater a year or so ago from a free Lion Brand pattern. It was a bulky weight sweater. In order not to go off the rails when I was making it, I typed out the pattern in 14 point type, double spaced, so I could easily tick off the rows and be able to see what the next row was by just glancing over. I am guessing that you could figure out the repeats for her and give her the number of stitches to cast on, which would include whatever border she wants (seed stitch, garter stitch) Hope this helps.
