I received a Beanie Bear as a gift and its making me wonder whether this is a new collectible? Until yesterday, I hadn't heard of them.

Several years ago here in the UK, beanie bears by the makers....Ty, were all the rage. There were hundreds of different types and now you will find rare,limited edition bears are worth a fortune. My children had dozens and they were passed on to other children we know. There were a few rare ones among the batch so I'm hoping they are being looked after. Go on Google and type in TY beanie bears. Yours may be in there. BTW, don't give the bear to a young child due to the contents and 'safety' eyes.
