Has anyone used Bernat Blanket Yarn? It felt so soft and is a chunky weight. I bought it to make a quick crochet throw for my grandson. I tried bamboo, aluminum and plastic hooks. The yarn did not slide easily on any of them. It is very hard on the hands. I will finish the throw but needless to say I won"t be buying it again.

You definitely need to use large hooks or needles, and loosen your tension. Hard for me - I tend to work everything tighter than gauge...
It makes wonderfully soft, squishy blankets and things though!

I’ve made at least 10 blankets with it. I used a “N” crochet hook which is pretty large. If you are knitting you will need very large needles. The finished blankets are really soft and cushy.

Thank you for sharing, I’m going to try a different yarn because I’m having a hard time finding all the colors I need for an Afghan that I’m planning to make.

I just finished a crocheted blanket with this yarn and couldn't wait to get it done. It was hard on the hands, but is very soft and warm and works up quickly.

trying to finish a blanket, knitting with larger needles, but it is so hard to work with...especially if you have arthritis. I love how it feels but don't anticipate buying it again unless I try to do crochet.

I've used Bernat Blanket yarn for an afghan and totally loved the feel and look.
Someone else had mentioned your tension might be too tight,
I think they are probably correct. It slid off my needles easily.
Very pleased with results and plan to use it again.
I hope this helps.
