I’d love to know who decided these things! A special government etiquette department?
I remember at grammar school in the fifties in Domestic Science we were taught how to lay a table, use cutlery, how many teatowels you should have and that dusters should always be yellow!

I'm sure it was men who decided how a woman should sit, walk, talk!

I would not hurt some of the younger generation to take note of these 'rules'.
There you go again, slamming young people. I say again the young people you have in Bundaberg must be different to the young people I mix with who are well mannered, knowledgeable and articulate. I feel sorry for you.

Bundyanne did say,"some", meaning "not all" and I agree with her.
There are some great kids out there but there are also a lot who were not taught proper manners at home.

I was taught most of those rules by my parents and grandparents. The bloke in the bottom left picture picture kissing the girl looks as if he is about to choke her lol.

It's a bit dodgy to be watching people kissing, never mind telling them how to do it!

I was taught quite a few of those things. In our house table manners were extremely important.

I always wondered why all those 'guidelines' were for women. Men could do what they wished and I think in the kissing pictures someone should have called attention to how the men were acting too. (Same old story). It has changed a lot but it is nice to see women aren't allowing themselves to be 2nd class citizens and more and could be 'put in our place' if we dared to be different.

Interesting journey. The sad thing is we took it for granted that that was correct. That lasted util I started questioning it in my late teens. Different rules for men and women and the men made and still make the rules. It is changing, thank heavens.
