I remember those sinks!!! In fact, my Grandma had one with a double sink and a double drainboard. My Grandpa built all the cabinets in her kitchen, and he encased the entire thing in white painted cabinets with black-marble-looking linoleum. This was in the 1930s, and was too early for formica, I think, so I'm guessing on the linoleum. I don't know any woman who wouldn't have envied that kitchen because it was HUGE, and had stout cabinets in an "L" along the back and side walls. That house was torn down for a freeway, but the sink and cabinet went into the basement of Grandma and Grandpa's new house. It may still be in use today by the new owners (chiefly because, if my Grandpa put something into a house, it was going to take an act of God to get it out!!!)

The merthiolate brings back memories. That was always in the medicine cabinet and the go-to whenever we scraped our knees!
If you ever had it put on a cut, you also remember the sting!!! But it always made the skinned area such a pretty pink.
I wonder if they still make it, and could you dye yarn with it?

You can STILL get Aga stoves! They cost at least 5-7,000+ USD minimum but are worth every penny!

Love that first stove! Similar to what I first learned to cook on.
We used to have a built in sort of stove in the kitchen when I was a child. It backed on to the fire in the living room but you couldn't regulate the temperature on the hobs so it was more or less useless. Mum used to use it for keeping gravy warm while she cooked the meal using the proper oven, and it warmed plates well, but other than that it was a waste of space.
