I have made a good number of ordinary afghans and baby blankets because I like “lazy patterns” aka mindless tv watching. I came across the brick pattern in the stitch bible and decided to use RHSS stash for a new grandchild’s blanket. I still have another 6 inches to go but love and had to share the surprise outcome.

Fabulous blanket! I love that stitch, and thank you for sharing your notes on Ravelry, about doing the "mortar" in stockinette instead of garter. Great for sensitive skin, and I think it looks wonderful with stockinette.

Isn't it wonderful when you try a stitch on a different yarn and get results beyond your expectations. I am going to try this stitch/yarn combo. Love that book--it has been a treasured resource.
