My sister-in-law buys sweaters and afghans at thrift stores, unravells them, then crochets blended colours into carpets in various sizes. There is no pattern, although I have asked her several times for one. She "reads" the project as she works. I've tried to get some shots of the areas of increase in case someone can see a pattern. I just feel like these works of art and love need to be seen. They cost very little in materials, but are precious as gifts from her heart. All of these were on the floor of her home on May 30th. They are washed as needed. Enjoy.

Actually, it is the very simple crochet for beginners. You single crochet in every stitch and two single crochet in one stitch for increase from time to time ! Go like this all around or create another shape of your choice ! You may use whatever scraps from left-overs or cutted fabric,- use your imagination, you will like it !

Those are very handy and beautiful, must be hard on the hands to crochet the mats.
You can see how tightly the carpets are stitched. It is a firm fabric. And yes, it is hard on her hands. That is why she rests her hands whenever possible. The larger ones are also very heavy.
