Does anyone here still buy the Craftsy mystery deals?

Just wondering as it seemed that after everyone seemed to hate the ironstone yarn in one of the mystery deals, nobody bought them again.

I love Craftsy courses but am unsure about the yarn deals.

I ordered it twice but I decided that I would be better off buying yarn I will actually use on sale. I will probably still buy one on occasion. I am a sucker for mystery/grab bags and have been since I was a kid.

Mary Maxim has a mystery box that I thought was more suited to my needs. It was $29.99 and I was really happy with it. The yarn wasn't as high end but I am not really a high end knitter

I've decided to pass on Craftsy deals. Not cause I didn't like the Flake Cotton (that was the one time I bought a box) - I do like it, though I wasn't crazy about the ribbon yarn that came with it.

But because thier deals are yarn that is being discontinued. They buy up big bunches when the manufacturer is getting rid of that line of yarn. The prices are a good deal based on the yarn's original cost, but if you ever want to get more of the yarn it's really hard to find it anywhere.

I can always get a surprise by digging in the bottom of my stash bins...... I have bought a specific yarn or two from Crafty and been very happy, but I want to know what I'm getting for my money so the surprise boxes don't hold my interest... I also hat to pay sdhipping for anything so tend to shop where I can get it free.....
