Have fun in Turkey. I spent time there almost 20 years ago and Istanbul remains my favorite city.

Yes, Turkey is gorgeous. I have no suggestions for your felt, but have a fabulous time! I'll be over there in July. You must go to the hamman (bath house) near the Grand Bazaar, it's a fabulous experience! I spent three weeks in Turkey with my sister last year and can't wait to return ! Enjoy! But beware the carpet sellers!

I use felt to make cases for glasses .I make a sandwich of felt ,then all kinds of scraps ,colorful bits of thread ,fabric ,ribbons .Cover that with tulle and with the machine secure the three layers . If you can use the walking foot on the sewing machine and go wild stitching the layers together .
Now you have fabric which you have made , you can make it into anything your like , jewelry which can be embellished even more . Glasses cases with lining ,small bags .

Hi Barbara , I know you will enjoy your creations ,they can be anything you want .
Use fancy yarn as well . You will find that as you put all the scraps on top of the felt they stick there ,that makes it easy to secure the three layers .I wish I could post a picture but I can't do that yet .
Quilters usually have a large piece of felt on the wall and they put bits and pieces of fabric up on the felt and stand back to see if it all goes together .

I was also decluttering & also ran across a box of felt in my stash, although, I knew it was there. I didn't know what to do with it so I asked my GD (a kindergarten teacher) if she could use it. She took it all! She acted like she had just struck gold!! Teachers here have to buy their own supplies so it is very valuable to her. I told her I'd keep her in mind for any other art/craft supplies I decide to get rid of.
