I have designed a circular blanket, I had just enough yarn to create it, It was to be 16 panels, in yellow, with a boarder of 12 rows in green (1x1 rib).

It was working out very nice, I really liked how it was coming out.

the aggravation part..... I have just ran out of the green, I do not remember the color name, I do know it is Vanna's Choice.

then I remembered my original design did not have spokes in it, this one does. so of course I ran out of colors. I have 5 more spokes to go. not a happy camper

That is so true, another wise thing, if you are designing the blanket and you calculate the amount of yarn, add at least 1 skein to your total, and try not to change the pattern in the middle of the creation, this changes your total. (thats what happened to me)

Ladies, when making an outfit it's much wiser to have plenty of yarn for that project than it is to run out in the middle of one. Learned a valuable lesson after this same thing has happened to me over the years.

Why don't you write to the company that produces Vanna's Choice yarns? Tell them of you problem, enclose a sample of the yarn. Address is usually on the paper band around the skeins - or you find it on the Internet.

I know it is one of the three greens that Vanna's Choice is, I am going to bring it to one of our local stores (that has a coupon) and match it up the best I can.

I've done both! But, I was trained by my Aunt an one of the things she kept telling me was figure out the pattern an how much you'll need an like you...add an extra skein or two. Well, my mistake is I don't figure out the patterns, too much in a hurry to waste on figures an I don't always do the gauge. But, I have the basics now an plan to use them!
