I just tried the method of binding off that someone recommended a few days ago. It was knit 1, put back on left needle, then knit 2. Wow..It really makes the finished edge look very nice. Thanks for the tip! Happy knitting/crocheting everyone! Semper Fi!

((((((( Thanks for the reminder; I appreciate it!! Knit 1, put it back on the needle, K2. Does this produce a stretchy BO?

Marine there, eh? Once a Marine, always a Marine.

Our son is Regular Army.

God bless our troops and our Allies!

Please thank your son for his service to our country! My husband, MGy.Sgt. Dale F. Racicot, came home after 7 months in Kuwait and Iraq. Sadly, he passed away only 3 hours after we picked him up at the airport. He was 54 years young. Even though it has been almost 8 years, it still feels like yesterday to me some days.
The BO method was very easy and the finished product looks great, not loose at all.
Happy knitting!

When I tried this method the bound off edge curled really bad. I'm not sure what I did wrong. I don't bind off tight so I think I'll try it again and see if I can figure out what went wrong. I had done it on a sample with some left over yarn - not a project - so nothing was ruined.

Hi Ladies,
I just learned the BO method and LOVED the edge it made. Not too tight or loose.
SO much to learn here.
God Bless all our troops, past and present, Hoorah!!

I just met a Navy Medic in a chat room and I think he is awesome for all he has done. USA best country to live in because of those who serve

I'm going to try that. thanks. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. I'm retired from the Navy and it hurts me when I hear of a service members death. God Bless you and your family.

For an even, straight, flexible edge, try binding off by knitting 2 stitches together through the back loops. Put the resulting stitch back on the left needle, and knit 2 together through the back loops again. Repeat until all stitches are bound off. Makes a great edge!
