i just purchased the incredible sweater machine and ez knittr machines from ebay. i was wondering if anyone has either of these machines and how easy it is to use them. i paid 51.00 for the sweater machine and 25 for the ez knittr. i live in a 5th wheel trailer so am not sure where to set them up yet. both are complete in their boxes and never used. all the parts are still in original plastic. can i use hand knitting patterns on these machines? any and all input would be appreciated. thank u.

Some HK stitches translate easily to ISM, others can't be duplicated. There are several good books on the market on the subject of stich conversion. I have, "Hand Manipulated Stiches for Machine Knitters" by Susan Guagliumi, but there are others.

Suggest you also get a copy of "301 Hinst and Tips" by Rosemary Worth, available from Bond.

I love my Bond, I have 3. I have trasfered hand knit to and from the bed to finish large areas a lot. Plus I have made hundreds of hats on them. Blankets and scarves are in the works now. I have even figured out how to make a lot of lacy patterns too. Sometimes I feel guilty that I can make things so much faster on the KM and then just add some special touches to make a lovely item..
Now the only problem I have has is the rolling of the sides. I have learned how to kill the acrylic yarn and to block the wools. It takes time to learn all the tricks but you can also watch a host of video's on U-tube. The 2 books that ksojerio told you about are very good to have too. You will find yourself reading them like a good story book.
Have fun and do not forget that there are a lot of MK-knitters here.

I love my Bond but, beware, they can seem temperamental! You need to set it up on a really flat surface and follow all of the advice given by Cheryl Brunette on You Tube starting with -

If you can be ultra patient and persist, you will be rewarded and once you "crack" the technique, it is so easy you almost laugh at memories of yourself trying to get the thing to work!

Brianna9301, there is a lot of information on the bond at youtube, What yarn were you using? Did you wax the plate before you started? Also there is Facebook, if you are a member there search Ultimate Sweater Machine knitters Lots and lots of information there.

Hi,
I also have the ultimate sweater machine and I love using it.As long as you have it set up and weighted down pretty good, you should be good to go.Yes,you can convert hand patterns to this also.
I will show some items made on it.
Enjoy and good luck with your machine.

I love my Bond. I used youtube videos to learn the techniques. The bed has to be flat. You may have lots of jams in the beginning until to you learn what is causing the jams. It could be a needle that is either in to far or out to far, or the bed is slightly raised where they join. Just don't give up. I just finished this scarf. I also did a Christmas Tree Dishcloth on the Bond.

The yarn over on the scarf pattern is that just one YO or 2 and is it left or right for machine knitting. I am still very new to my bond. I ve had it for 9 months but have not been able to work on it all the time due to family and my health issues.

The scarf is based on a hand knit pattern at The dishcloth was based on the Lily pattern at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/christmas-tree-dishcloth-3
The dishcloth required the use of a garter bar since there were decreased across the row and I had to move a number of stitches over.

I did the one yarn over in the direction opposite from the carriage. So one row was left and the next was right.
